Tulunadu with Modern Culture
Tulunadu is
created by Lord Parashurama this is what Tulu people believe. Tulunadu consists
of two twin cities Udupi and Mangalore. But we can find Tulu people most number
also in Kasaragodu and Mumbai. Tulunadu is the land of Koti Chennaya and Poonja-sanku.
Who are the worshipping Lords (Daiva) of Tulu people, various spiritual
rituals like Nagaradhane, Bhootaradhane are the most unique traditions Tulu
people have. Folk forms like Yakshagana, Ati kalanji, Kola, Kambala, Korida
Katta (cock fighting) are the famous and most celebrated events in Tulunadu.
Tulunadu has
various holy rivers such as Netravathi, Kumaradhara, and Palguni etc. It also
consists of Katilu, Subrhamanya, Dharmastala, Kadri, Puttur Mahalingeshwara,
Kolluru, Shibaroor, Bappanadu, are various spiritual places. So Tulunadu is
also considered as temple city of Karnataka.
Tulunadu is so talented
and also grown in terms of industries and technology now. It has MRPL finishing
plant, Infosys, KMF and other giants companies.
Various tourist
places such as Kadri Park, Someshwara beach, Panamboor beach, Karkala
gommateshwara and other historical places we can visit in Tulunadu.
In spite of all
these prosperous growth in Tulunadu, there are many problems facing by these
people. Now Tulunadu changed allot from its history. Many governments are
trying to change the flow of Netravathi River and thereby they are planning to
empty the water source to Tulunadu and also they are restricting the historical
Sport Kambala to stop in the name of animal abuse. Now various historical and
traditional activities of Tulunadu are taken over by western cultures.
